A wide, tree-lined neighborhood street with mostly split-level and rambler homes on well-manicured lawns sets the tone for this 1965 home in Rockville’s Rock Creek Manor community.

A slate walkway and covered porch greet visitors to the split-level home with brick and siding construction.

A wooden door with beautiful leaded glass and matching sidelights opens to a foyer with festive-patterned ceramic tile floor. A coat closet is conveniently located here, as well as in the family room on the other side of a curved wall to the right.

An expansive brick fireplace is the focal point in the large family room that spans the width of the home. The room also features varied-width hardwood floor and a front window flanked by built-in bookcases. As in the foyer area, floral wallpaper accents a wall in this space that includes a cozy morning room with a wall of windows looking out to the backyard.

The fenced yard has a brick patio and mature bushes and plantings, as well as a storage shed that conveys.

Back inside, a sunken area off of the morning room has a storage closet and a door to the patio out back. This small space is also connected to the kitchen, via several steps up.

The kitchen has been upgraded with light-colored cabinets, stainless steel appliances and Corian counters. A pantry and a lighted ceiling fan are also featured, as is a breakfast nook that was added to the home about 10 years ago, along with the morning room and the upper-level master bath.

The breakfast nook has two walls of windows including a large bumpout with a plant shelf. A glass door opens to a deck. Wood trim accents the door and windows here.

To the left of the foyer, several steps lead up to the living room offering a large front window. Hardwoods also line the floors here and in the attached dining room.

The dining room has a single shelf that spans one entire wall, which can be used as a server; and French doors to the deck.

A powder room is on the main level, next to a door to the basement level. The basement includes a carpeted room with a closet, which can be a fourth bedroom; a sewing room with a walk-in closet; and a large, unfinished laundry and storage area with a door to the sideyard.

The upper level, accessed via a flight of stairs off of the living room, also features hardwood floors throughout except in the bathrooms.

The master bedroom offers generous closet space, two windows and a ceiling fan. An area with a vanity and the water closet connects the bedroom and the added bath and walk-in closet, where windows and skylights create sunny spaces.

The white ceramic bath boasts cathedral ceilings with a lighted fan, a jetted tub with a skylight above, separate shower, a double vanity and a linen closet. A wall of Palladian picture windows offers a serene view of the trees.

A hall bath serves the other two bedrooms. Two hall linen closets complete the bedroom level.

The owners have lived in the house more than 20 years and taken meticulous care of it, inside and out.
