Mary Christine Pecoraro

Mary Christine Pecoraro, 79, of Silver Spring died Aug. 15, 2007, at Montgomery Hospice’s Casey House in Derwood.

She was the wife of the late Nicholas S. Pecoraro Sr., who died April 26, 2007.

She was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the late Gabriel Joseph and Elvira Mastrolaeasa Fontana.

She worked for the Montgomery County Police Department as a school crossing guard in Wheaton and Silver Spring and later was secretary to the district coordinator of the Silver Spring area.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Silver Spring. She loved cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving her are eight children, Anthony Tobio Pecoraro and wife Deborah of California, Nicholas S. Pecoraro and wife Donna of Elkridge, Andrew William Pecoraro and wife Mindy of Hawaii; Gabriel Joseph Pecoraro and wife Lyn of Cumberland, Susan Christine Carroll and husband Arthur of Silver Spring, Michael John Pecoraro and wife Karen of Derwood, Mary Kathleen Robertson and husband Robin of Damascus; and Thomas Aloysius Pecoraro and wife Courtenay of Silver Spring; a brother, Gabriel Fontana of Potomac; 33 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 21 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Aspen Hill.

Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home in Damascus handled arrangements.
