Mature landscaping graces the property, including the faÁade, where a flight of steps leads up to the columned front porch.

An open floor plan with spacious, bright and airy rooms on the main level make this brick-front colonial home in North Potomac ideal for entertaining.

Among the home's outstanding features are dining and family rooms that open to a screened porch and sunroom beyond. The latter rooms are connected by a wooden deck, offering a nice flow when entertaining.

Mature landscaping graces the property. A flight of steps leads up to the columned front porch. Inside, a two-story foyer has a staircase, a front window and a guest closet. Bleached hardwood floors run here and throughout most rooms on this level.

To the right, the living room is sunny thanks to two front windows plus a large side bay window. The space opens to the dining room, which also has a side bay window as well as crown and chair-rail moldings, and French doors accessing the screened porch out back.

The porch features a beamed cathedral ceiling with a lighted fan, and doors to a sunken deck that has steps leading down to the fenced yard.

Back inside, the kitchen sits between the dining and family rooms. Dark-stained cherry cabinets, a double-door pantry and a cooking island with stool space outfit the kitchen, as do recessed lights and a trio of windows above the double sink. An adjacent breakfast room has a built-in desk, and bay windows looking out to the deck.

A railing separates this area from the sunken family room, where a raised brick-surround fireplace is flanked by Palladian windows. A cathedral ceiling with a lighted fan open the room even more, and three sets of French doors open to a sunroom that also has a cathedral ceiling and a lighted fan. Skylights and windows all around create a room to relax and enjoy all the four seasons.

The laundry/mudroom off the kitchen area has a front window and a door to the attached, two-car garage. A powder room with a pedestal sink off the entry completes the main level.

Upstairs, one of the front bedrooms yields space for a large, open landing that the owners are using as an office. This space has two front windows, and can be converted to a fourth bedroom.

The master bedroom sits to the right of the stairs and features carpeting, two front windows and a ceramic-tiled bath with a double vanity, a walk-in closet and a corner jetted tub. A separate shower and windows on two walls finish the master bath.

The two smaller rooms share an end-of-hall bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

The finished lower level is carpeted and includes a full bath and an open recreation area with a wall shelf that runs along all the walls — ideal for photos, books and décor items. Several unfinished areas offer plenty of storage and space for future expansion.

The home is located in the Stonebridge community. Annual $534 HOA fees include use of the community center, party room, outdoor pool, tennis courts and playgrounds.
