The following is a summary of incidents in Bethesda to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.

Aggravated assault

‘On Aug. 2: At approximately 1 a.m. at the Bethesda Metro, 7450 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda. The male victim was riding up the escalator when he was bumped from behind. The victim turned around and was confronted by the suspect who stabbed him with a knife. Afterward, the suspect and his Hispanic female companion, turned around and walked back down the escalator. The female was described as 18-21 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 120 pounds. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 18-21 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130-150 pounds; spoke Spanish.

Indecent exposure

‘On Aug. 5: At approximately midnight at Cordell Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. The victim was outside when the male suspect followed the victim and exposed himself to her. A lookout was placed and the suspect was identified. A 45-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested.

Rape

‘On Aug. 3: At the American Inn Hotel, 8130 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda. Suspect and victim are known to each other.

Sex assault

‘On Aug. 1: At approximately 4:30 a.m. in the 7600 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. The female victim was walking when she was approached by the lone male suspect. The suspect attempted to lead her away by grabbing her purse and her arm, and touching her inappropriately. The victim was eventually able to break free and flee the scene. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, goatee.

Commercial burglary

‘Federal Parking, 4800 Bethesda Ave. in Bethesda, overnight between July 29 and July 30 at Forced entry, property taken.

‘Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7500 Pearl Street in Bethesda, between July 30 and July 31. Attempted forced, entry no entry gained.

‘Tree Top Kids, 10219 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, overnight between July 28 and July 29. Forced entry, HVAC unit was damaged, no property taken.

‘W.W. Family Cleaners, 10221 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, overnight between July 28 and July 29. Forced entry, HVAC unit was pushed open. Property taken.

‘Wildwood Manor Exxon, 10335 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, overnight between Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. Attempted forced entry, no entry gained.

Residential burglary

‘10400 block of Meredith Avenue in Kensington, during the daytime on July 29. Forced entry, property taken.
