The following is a summary of incidents in eastern Montgomery County to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.

Silver Spring district

Aggravated assault

‘July 30: Two males approached a victim about 9:42 pm. in the 8700 block of Colesville Road in Silver Spring and tried to start a fight with the victim. When the victim refused, one male pulled out a knife and the other bat the victim with a baseball bat. The victim fled and contacted police. One of the males, age 20, was arrested.

‘Aug. 2: A female victim was assaulted in a domestic incident about 12:23 a.m. in the 3500 block of Olive Branch Drive in the Briggs Chaney area of Silver Spring.

Aggravated assault/

‘Aug. 3: A male with a handgun chased and then shot a male victim after attacking him from behind about 1:30 a.m. in the area of the 3200 block of Kilkenny Street in the Calverton area of Silver Spring.

‘Aug. 3: A male victim was struck by one male and then by another stabbed as he attempted to flee the attackers between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. at the intersection of Georgia and Thayer avenues in Silver Spring. The attackers, who were also armed with a gun, got out a red sport utility vehicle and demanded the victim's vehicle.

The victim was able to flee in the vehicle moments after the assault.

Attempted carjacking

‘Aug. 3: Two men demanded keys from a woman as she was standing at her vehicle about 4:18 p.m. in a parking lot in the 8500 block of Springvale Road in Silver Spring.

When the victim refused, one of the men displayed a handgun, but the victim tossed her keys into her trunk and closed it. The men then fled on foot without taking anything.

Armed robbery

‘July 30: Three males, one armed with a knife, took property from a victim about 5:38 p.m. in the parking lot to the rear of the Rite Aid, 1411 East West Highway in Silver Spring. The victim met the known suspects behind the store. One suspect pulled out a knife and ordered him to empty his pockets, the victim complied, and all three suspects fled on foot.

‘July 30: Three males armed with a knife took property from a victim and fled about 9:45 p.m. in the parking lot of McDonalds, 7990 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring.

‘Aug. 2: Three males armed with a handgun took a purse from a victim about 7:02 pm. parking lot of the Blair Mansion Inn, 7711 Eastern Ave. in Silver Spring. The robbers fled in a white Jeep.

‘July 31: Two men, one armed with a gun, took property from a victim and fled about 10:21 p.m.in the 9100 block of September Lane in Silver Spring.

‘July 28: Two men, one armed with a knife, took property from a victim they were socializing with between noon and 1 p.m. at an apartment in the 11600 block of Stewart Lane in the White Oak area of Silver Spring. They fled in a newer-model silver Toyota or Honda.

‘Aug. 2: Three males assaulted victims between 12:10 a.m. and 1:15 a.m. in the area of Piney Branch Road and University Boulevard in Silver Spring.

Burglary

‘Church of the Ascension, 634 Silver Spring Ave., between 9:30 p.m. July 29 and 6:40 a.m. July 30. Forced entry; property taken.

Attempted armed robbery

‘Aug. 3: Two teenage boys and a teenage girl chased a victim and struck him with an unknown object after demanding money from the victim about 9 p.m. in the 14200 block of Angelton Terrace in the Briggs Chaney area of Silver Spring. Nothing was taken.

‘July 31: Four teenage boys, one armed with a BB gun, demanded money from a victim and then shot the victim before running off about 10:51 a.m. in the 400 block of Leighton Avenue in Silver Spring.

Strong-arm robbery

‘Aug. 1: A man demanded money from a victim while another man removed cash from the victim's pockets between 10 p.m. and 10:12 p.m. in front of the 7900 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. The robbers then fled.

‘July 29: A male took a purse from a female victim as she was getting out of her car 1:55 p.m. in the 10900 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring.

‘Aug. 1: Six teenage boys, who asked a victim for change about 1 a.m.in the area of the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard in the Briggs Chaney area of Silver Spring, punched the victim and took his suitcase after the victim ignored them.

‘Aug. 2: A man grabbed a female, punched her and took her purse 5:31 a.m. in a parking lot in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring after he called out to her and she attempted to walk away.

‘Aug. 3: Three males knocked down a male victim, kicked him and took his cash 5:10 p.m. in the parking lot of Sears, 11271 New Hampshire Ave. in the White Oak area of Silver Spring.

Weapons offense

‘Aug. 3: A resident reported hearing a loud banging noise 6:22 p.m. in a hallway of an apartment in the 800 block of Thayer Avenue in Silver Spring. Bullet holes were found in a stairwell door. Police are seeking three male suspects.

‘Georgia Avenue, 7900 block Aug. 2. 1994 Honda Civic stolen.

‘Manchester Place, unit block, between July 21 and July 22. 1995 Honda Civic stolen.

‘Piney Branch Road, 9000 block, July 30. 2006 Suzuki motorcycle stolen.

‘Domer Avenue and Glenville Road, Aug. 2. 1994 Honda Accord stolen.

‘Mount Pisgah Road, 1700 block, between July 31 and Aug. 1. 2007 Toyota Camry stolen.

‘Stateside Drive, 1400 block, between July 31 and Aug. 1. 1990 Acura Integra stolen.

‘New Hampshire Avenue, 10000 block, July 31.1994 Pontiac Grand Am stolen.

‘Treetop Lane, 1900 block, July 29. 1997 Honda Accord stolen.

‘Crimson Lane, 11900 block, July 30. 2000 Dodge van stolen.

‘Cordoba Street, 3200 block, July 31. 2000 Chrysler van stolen.

Vehicle larceny

‘Ellsworth Drive, Eastern Avenue, Georgia Avenue and East West Highway, between July 28 and Aug. 3. Several vehicles were broken into. The majority of the incidents occurred during evening and overnight hours. In two of the incidents on Aug. 2, the victims were able to provide a brief description of the suspects. GPS devices, clothing, jewelry, computer equipment taken. The suspects drove a white Jeep.

‘Cordoba Street, Marlow Road, Antler Court and Hershfield Court and Sweet Clover Drive in the Calverton and Fairland areas of Silver Spring, between July 31 and Aug. 1. Several vehicles were broken into. In two of the incidents, the bumpers were removed from the vehicles. GPS devices, cell phones, and computer equipment also taken.

‘Old Columbia Pike, Columbia Pike, Sheffield Manor Terrace and Colgate Way, between July 28 and July 30. Five vehicles were broken into. In one of the incidents, the victim observed the suspect tampering with her vehicle, went out to check and noticed all four tires missing. The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle. The suspect drove a silver vehicle.

‘CTS Associated, 8339 16th S., between 8:30 p.m. July 31 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 1. No forced entry; property taken.

‘Greencastle Pool, 3737 Greencastle Road, between 9 p.m. July 31 and. 11 a.m. Aug. 1. Forced entry; property taken.

Residential burglary

‘Thayer Avenue, 800 block, between 5:30 p.m. July 31 and 5:45 a.m. Aug. 1. No forced entry; property taken from apartment.

‘Evans Drive, 2300 block, 7:41 p.m. July 28. No forced entry; suspects observed by neighbor. Nothing taken.

‘Darrow Street, 2200 block, about 11:40 p.m. Aug. 2. Attempted forced entry, suspect was observed; no entry, nothing taken.

‘Tahona Drive, 8400 block, between noon and 5 p.m. Aug. 1. No forced entry; suspect has been developed.

‘Featherwood Drive, 12300 block, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 2. The suspect was observed. Unknown entry; property taken.

‘Needlepine Terrace, 12300 block, 3:05 a.m. Aug. 3. The suspect was found inside the residence and arrested.

‘Castle Boulevard, 13900 block , between 11:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. July 30. Forced entry; property taken.

Wheaton-Glenmont district

Aggravated assault

‘Aug. 3: A victim was assault in a domestic-related incident in the 13300 block of Dove Street in Colesville.

‘Aug. 4: An assault between acquaintances occurred 10:30 a.m. at the American Beauty Academy, 11006 Veirs Mill Road in Wheaton.

Armed street robbery

‘Aug. 2: Three males, one armed with a machete, took property from a victim 9:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Hawkesbury Lane in Kemp Mill. The suspects then drove off in a white sport utility vehicle.

‘Aug. 3: Three males jumped a victim and took his property 9:30 p.m. at Ennalls and Grandview avenues.

‘July 29: Four teenage boys followed a male suspect, knocked him down, assaulted him and took his property 7:45 p.m. at Farthing and Dean roads in Aspen Hill.

Commercial burglary arrest

‘Discount Linens, 12106 Georgia Ave., 1:15 a.m. Aug. 1. The owner's brother drove by and observed two males breaking into the store.

‘Bel Pre Road, 3960 clock, 9:20 a.m. July 30. No forced entry to storage room; nothing taken.

‘Rock Creek Dental Center, 5542 Norbeck Road, 3:53 a.m. Aug. 1. Forced entry; property taken.

‘La Frontera, 4217 Randolph Road, 6:07 a.m. Aug. 3. Forced entry. A 46-year-old Wheaton man was arrested.

‘Glenmont Cleaners, 12353 Georgia Ave., overnight between Aug. 1 and Aug. 2. Unknown entry; property taken.

Residential burglary

‘Mills Avenue, 13900 block, 2:49 a.m. Aug. 4. Attempted forced entry; no entry gained, nothing taken.

‘Weller Road, 2700 block, between 7 p.m. July 28 and 2 p.m. July 29. Forced entry; property taken.

‘Hydrus Road, 14900 block, between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 28. No forced entry; property taken.

‘Claridge Road, 11900 block, between 5 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. July 31.

‘Hermleigh Road, 700 block, between July 30 and Aug. 1. Forced entry; unknown property taken.

‘Georgian Way, 2308 block, between July 25 and July 26. No sign of forced entry; property taken.
