An electrical engineer, Bossler specializes in sophisticated biotech lab equipment. "One of our business divisions provides consumable lab products to government, educational, and startup labs. More and more, we received requests for competitively priced lab equipment," said Joseph Garner, president of APE-BridgePath, in a statement. Carroll Creek condos auctioned at profit Five of nine Carroll Creek luxury condominiums in Maxwell Place sold for between $350,000 and $463,000 at K. Hovnanian's "close-out" auction Saturday. None of the downtown Frederick units, including one sold just before the auction, sold at a loss, a K. Hovnanian spokeswoman said Tuesday. An investor was expected to bid on the remaining four units this week. New Market man promoted to senior VP Lowell Yoder of New Market was recently promoted to senior vice president of Provident Bank's Greater Washington Banking Group. Nonemployer firms generated $970B in '06 More than 20.7 U.S. businesses without a payroll generated total revenues of $970 billion in 2006, the Census Bureau recently reported. Those businesses comprise 18.2 million sole proprietorships, 1.4 million corporations and 1.2 million partnerships. Three sectors, with a total of 7.9 million businesses, accounted for almost half of the receipts: real estate and rental and leasing, $193 billion; construction, $159 billion; and professional, scientific and technical services, $124 billion. Westminster firm wins $7.24M NASA contract NASA has selected Carleton Technologies of Westminster for a $7.24 million contract to design, develop, fabricate and deliver a propellant tank for a spacecraft mission managed by the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt. The tank will contain all of the fuel used for maneuvering a global positioning measurement spacecraft, one of the next generation of satellite-based Earth science missions that will study global rain, snow and ice. The mission is slated for launch in July 2013. Patriot Technologies engineer awarded patent Lee Kelly, a security engineer for Patriot Technologies of Frederick, recently received a patent for his Vendor Security Management System, which he co-developed before joining Patriot. The system verifies information technology security with multiple vendors.
