The following is a summary of incidents in eastern Montgomery County to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.

Silver Spring district

Aggravated assault

ïJuly 24: Victims were beaten by three males 2:24 a.m. at Colesville Road and Spring Street in Silver Spring.

ïJuly 27: A male armed with a knife cut a victim during a scuffle after the male made verbal threats and chased the victim about 3 a.m. in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. The male, who was known by the victim, then fled in a white pickup truck.

ïJuly 26: A male armed with a knife stabbed a victim during an argument between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. The victim knew his attacker.

ïJuly 24: A suspect was arrested after brandishing a knife during an argument with a victim about 7:40 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Industrial Parkway in Silver Spring.

Armed robbery/

aggravated assault

ïJuly 28: Two men armed with a handgun shot a victim and took the victim's bag, which contained cash, while the victim was trying to get away about 1:30 a.m. at Glenville Road and Langley Drive in Silver Spring. The robbers then fled toward a dark-colored vehicle that was waiting for them.

Attempted armed robbery

ïJuly 26: Two men, one armed with a handgun, demanded money from a victim 10 p.m. at Ellsworth Drive and Woodside Parkway in Silver Spring. The men then fled on foot.

ïJuly 23: Two men, one armed with a handgun demanded money from a victim about 12:42 a.m. as he approached his residence in the 14100 block of Aldora Circle in Silver Spring. The men fled when the victim told them he didn't have much money.

Armed robbery

ïJuly 27: Two teenage boys, one armed with a knife, took cash from a victim 3 p.m. at a bus stop in the 8400 block of Colesville Road in Silver Spring.

Indecent exposure

ïJuly 26: A female victim reported seeing a male lying naked in the roadway 11:58 p.m. in the 1000 block of Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring as she was driving.

Vehicle theft

ïThayer Avenue, 500 block, between July 23 and July 24. 1998 Jeep stolen.

ïFenton Street, 8400 block, between July 26 and July 28. 2000 Mazda Protégé stolen.

ïManchester Place, unit block of, between July 21 and July 22. 1995 Honda Civic stolen.

ïMount Pisgah Road, 9700 block, July 26. 2001 Ford stolen.

ïTimberwood Avenue, 300 block, July 27. 2002 Buick Century stolen.

ïNew Hampshire Avenue, 11700 block, July 24. 1999 Toyota Corolla stolen.

ïFeatherwood Street, 1700 block, between July 24 and July 25. 1996 Honda Accord stolen.

Vehicle larceny

ïGist Avenue, Ritchie Avenue and Silver Spring Avenue in Silver Spring, during evening and overnight hours between July 21 and July 28. Forced entry to several vehicles; GPS devices, stereos, jewelry and personal items taken.

Commercial burglary

ïArmando's Pizzeria, 1909 Seminary Road, Mayflower Restaurant, 1905 Seminary Road, Sniders Nails, 9416 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring, early morning July 21. Two of the incidents were found on alarm calls at 1:31 a.m. In those two incidents, the suspect(s) forced entry. Officers found the third burglary while investigating the first two incidents. Unknown what was taken.

ïPiney Branch Road, 8600 block, between 5 p.m. July 24 and 8 a.m. July 25. No forced entry; apartment vandalized, nothing taken.

ïSunburst Hospitality, 10770 Columbia Pike, between 5 p.m. July 22 and 9 a.m. July 24. No forced entry; property taken.

ïBurnt Mills Seventh-day Adventist Church, 10915 Lockwood Drive, between 9 p.m. July 25 and 8 a.m. July 26. No forced entry; property taken.

ïChicken Basket, 15452 Old Columbia Pike, between 8:30 p.m. July 22 and 7:50 a.m. July 24. Forced entry; property taken.

ïEl Sol Restaurant, 13879 Outlet Drive, between 8 p.m. July 26 and 6:59 a.m. July 27. Forced entry; property taken.

Residential burglary

ïBayfield Street, 700 block, 12:11 p.m. July 22. Two homeless men were arrested after a real estate agent found them inside the home

ïPiney Branch Road, 8600 block, between 2:30 p.m. July 24 and 9:30 p.m. July 25. Attempted forced entry; no property taken.

ïCavalier Drive, 10700 block, between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 14. No forced entry; property taken.

ïEastwood Avenue, 10400 block, between 1:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. July 23. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

ïHunters Gate Terrace, 2700 block, 6:30 a.m. July 26. Forced entry.

Wheaton-Glenmont district

Armed street robbery

ïJuly 21: A Wheaton man was charged in connection with an armed street robbery 2:10 a.m. in the 4100 block of Heathfield Road in Rockville. The victims, described only as teenage males, were walking when three suspects passed by in a silver minivan and then returned with a metal club. The suspects took one victim's personal property.

ïJuly 29: Two males, one wearing a bandana, displayed a handgun and took property from a man 12:30 a.m. after following him in the area of Amherst Avenue and Prichard Road in Wheaton.

Strong-arm robbery

ïJuly 28: A male approached a woman from behind and demanded property at 12:17 a.m. in the 2300 block of Glenallen Avenue Wheaton. He fled on foot after taking property.

ïJuly 25: Two men punched a man and took his property 8:52 p.m. in the alley to the rear of Panera Bread in the Aspen Hill Shopping Center in Aspen Hill, after they demanded his property and the victim refused. The robbers then fled in a black sport utility vehicle.

Strong-arm robbery arrest

ïJuly 25: An 18-year-old man was charged in connection with an attempted strong-arm robbery after he allegedly tried to take a wallet from a man 4:28 p.m. in front of the Staples store in Glenmont.

The victim was walking when the man, who was with a group of 15 males, approached from behind and allegedly tried to remove the victim's wallet from his pocket. But the victim pulled away, kept his wallet and called police. The victim followed the suspect until police arrived.

ïLayhill Free Methodist Church, 1920 Bonifant Road, between 8:30 p.m. July 26 and 9 a.m. July 27. Forced entry; property taken.

ïStorage bin, 532 Glenallen Ave., between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. July 22. Unknown entry; property taken.

ïRockport Drive, 15200 block, between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. July 28. Forced entry; property taken.

ïGeorgia Avenue, 13000 block, 4:59 p.m. July 28. Forced entry; nothing taken.

ïGrenoble Drive, 12900 block, between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. July 26. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

ïShorefield Road, 2300 block, between 10:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. July 24. Forced entry; property taken.

ïGeorgian Way, 2300 block, between July 25 and July 26. No forced entry; property taken.

ïVeirs Mill Road, 11600 block, between July 22 and July 24. Forced entry; nothing taken.

ïCollegeview Drive, 11500 block, between 1:01 a.m. and 5:12 p.m. July 24. Forced entry; property taken.

ïThai Tavern, 4011 Norbeck Road, 3:57 a.m. July 24. Forced entry; property taken.

ïBeer & Wine International Store, 4011 Norbeck Road, between 3:10 a.m. and 3:22 a.m. July 28. Forced entry; property taken.

ïGeorgia Avenue Market, 13623 Georgia Ave., 3:40 a.m. July 25. Forced entry; property taken.
