Georgetown Square Giant reopeningThe Giant store located at 10400 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda will be celebrating its grand reopening at 8 a.m., Aug. 22. The reopening of the 36,620-square-foot Georgetown Square Giant will showcase improvements to the store's produce and other perishable departments as well as new dÈcor, floors, ceilings, lighting, and the addition of other customer service offerings. The Georgetown Square remodel is part of a major three-year investment plan to remodel or replace approximately 100 Giant stores in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. The remodeling program, named "Project Refresh," represents the largest investment in Giant stores in over ten years. Potomac construction group donates to Habitat for Humanity Hopkins & Porter Construction, Inc, of Potomac, made a group contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFH-MC). On June 3, Joseph Leonard, a salesman for the building group, presented a check for $16,000 to John Paukstis, the executive director of HFH-MC during the opening ceremonies of the Big Train baseball game at Shirley Povich Field in Cabin John Park. This is the sixth year in a row that Hopkins & Porter has formed a partnership with its associates to raise funds for HFH-MC at the same time as sponsoring a ballgame at the Bethesda Big Train.
