During my 16-year career in law enforcement, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office has grown and matured into one of the finest agencies in Maryland and the entire country. It is the right time for an experienced member of this agency to step into the lead role and to be elected sheriff. I have developed leadership experience during my career in law enforcement, experience in the private sector, and also in other organizational involvement. I bring experience, reason, common sense, commitment, and a strong work ethic. Serving as sheriff combines my experience and commitment to law enforcement and my commitment to the community.

I will take the lead role in establishing an effective multi-agency gang unit to combat increasingly violent street crime and growing criminal enterprise in our neighborhoods. As a part of the gang issue I will make every effort to fight the illegal immigration problem on the local level as is being done in other areas of the country.

Expand the criminal investigation effort by increasing the number of criminal investigators and make solving crime issues a priority.

Having investigated many violent sex crimes I will make monitoring and tracking of sexual predators and violent sex offenders a constant priority.

Establish small sub-stations in specific areas of Frederick County to provide better response time to calls and make access by citizens more convenient.

Work diligently with other elected and public safety officials to continue to develop strategic plans for issues related to Homeland Security and growth. I also promote strong cooperation among all local law enforcement agencies to improve response to all of the citizen’s needs.

I am fiscally responsible and will utilize our tax dollars effectively.
