We need to ensure that every Maryland child receives the highest quality education, that we relieve traffic congestion, and that we develop solutions so people can both live and work in Frederick County.

There is a clear contrast in the two District 3A House of Delegates incumbents. Del. Patrick Hogan has a poor record when it comes to supporting Frederick families. He voted to increase taxes and fees, but voted against increasing the minimum wage, making it virtually impossible for them to find affordable housing. In contrast, Del. Galen Clagett never backs off from doing what is right for families, working to increase education funding, health care options and the minimum wage. I look forward to working with him in Annapolis.

Yes.

Growth is a critical issue in Frederick County that we must better manage. By coordinating local, state and federal government, we can better plan and fund needed infrastructures that come with growth i.e. schools, water⁄sewer, transportation systems, etc.

Creating a budget is all about determining priorities. We need to prioritize transportation, education, affordable housing and health care. We must to ensure that every Maryland child receives the highest quality education

We must roll back Gov. Ehrlich’s property tax increase to ease the burden on Frederick families.

Slots are an economic decision for me. I would vote for the legislation only if it is in the best interest of Maryland families, including specifying that the gambling industry agree to pay its workers a living wage. We must guarantee that the majority of the revenues go back to health care, education or other priority needs of Maryland residents.

No.

No.

For our public universities to remain nationally competitive, the drastic cuts to higher education funding over the last four years must be restored.

We must roll back the cuts to the Transportation Trust Fund.

We can’t pave our way out of our transportation problems. We should invest in more transit systems, such as the rail on the Wilson Bridge. We should plan for an elevated rail system up the middle of I-270, and create incentives that allow people to work from home. I don’t agree with adding an I-270 toll lane to Frederick that would unfairly tax Western Maryland residents.

We should consider that option.

We should consider a variety of options to ensure that we provide energy at reasonable prices to Frederick families. We should study options, such as re-regulation and municipal aggregation.

We should enforce current laws.

Along with the majority of Frederick residents, I support Marylanders right to reproductive choice.

The Maryland Constitution does not address this issue. I support the current 1973 Maryland statute that states a marriage is between a man and a woman.

The governor should enforce the current environmental laws and appropriately fund the Maryland Department of the Environment.

I support a charter form of government for Frederick County that would ultimately be decided by citizen referendum.
