Why are you running for office and what would you like to see changed?
I am the incumbent, and have handled this job for 16 years. Obviously, I would not like to see anything changed. I am running for the same reason I first ran - to make the Office of the Register of Wills serve the public with respect and with the knowledge of the law and other matters pertaining to estates, wills, trusts and real estate, and to save the public and attorneys time and money when administering an estate.
Sixteen years ago, the Register of Wills Office needed improvement for one reason or another. For 16 years, I have organized and made this office efficient, hired and trained excellent staff, implemented automation (and continue to push the state to work on such issues as getting our records on the Internet).
I truly desire to ‘‘serve the public,” and make this the best register’s office anywhere. (Attorneys and people who have to deal with other counties in Maryland and other states tell us all the time, ‘‘Frederick County’s Register of Wills Office and staff are the best. They are so helpful and knowledgeable.”)
I am running for another term because I would like to continue to see that the Register of Wills Office in Frederick County treat the public the way it would like to be treated - with a caring, understanding, knowledgeable, and efficient register and staff.
