G-SHARP director was ‘an inspiration’

I am writing concerning the article about the G-SHARP student suspension program held at the Church of the Ascension next to Gaithersburg High School (‘‘Groups’ fears prompt look into SHARP,” July 11 article).

I have been a volunteer with the program since its inception and consider Eileen Shea, its director, to be the heart and soul of the program. She has been competent and efficient, but most of all she has dealt firmly and fairly with the students, who respect her. She also has been an inspiration to long-term volunteers like me. I cannot envision G-Sharp without her.

I believe the county, which wants the program to succeed, should investigate the circumstances of her departure.
