Man charged with robbery, burglary, sex offense

Takoma Park Police charged an 18-year-old Riverdale Park man July 17 in connection with the robbery and sexual assault of a 59-year-old Takoma Park woman inside her home July 13.

Quintin Tyrone Perry Jr. was charged with first-degree robbery, first- degree burglary, first-degree sex offense and several theft and credit card theft offenses. He is being held without bond at the county’s detention center.

Images from a surveillance camera at three bank machine locations July 17 show Perry using the woman’s bank cards, Police Chief Ronald Ricucci said. One was used five minutes after the alleged robbery and assault occurred.

Perry initially was stopped, questioned and photographed by police July 14 during a surveillance of the neighborhood where the crime occurred. He was released due to lack of probable cause, according to a police news release.

Police said a man broke into the woman’s home in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue about 11:45 p.m. July 13. He allegedly demanded money from the woman before ordering her to undress, tying her up and sexually assaulting her, police said.

The man left the woman’s home with $25 in cash, two bank cards, a laptop computer and her personal identification number to access the cash at three area banks, according to a police news release.

Taxi driver robbed,beaten by passengers

A taxi driver was treated for minor injuries after three male passengers beat him, kicked him and took his property in a July 14 robbery in Wheaton.

The 50-year-old driver from Rockville picked up the three men from the Rockville Metro station who asked to be taken to the 13500 block of Grenoble Drive. When they reached the destination, the men pulled the taxi driver out of the cab and assaulted him. They then took some property from the driver and fled, according to a news release from Montgomery County Police.

The driver was injured but drove himself to the hospital. He was treated and released, police said.

The robbers were black. One was 20 to 22 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. He had short- cropped hair and wore dark jeans and a green polo short. The man was 25 to 27 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighed between 150 and 170 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt, black pants and had an afro hairstyle. The third man was 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 150 pounds. He wore a black T-shirt.

Man charged withattempted murder for stabbing

Police charged a 35-year-old man with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with a July 13 stabbing in the Peppertree Farm neighborhood of Silver Spring.

Tommie Lee Pride of no fixed address was taken into custody July 18 on a warrant. He was found in the 1500 block of Butler Street SE, Washington, D.C. He remains in custody in Washington D.C., and awaits extradition to Montgomery County, according to a news release from Montgomery County Police.

Police say Pride stabbed a 34-year-old male resident of a condominium in the 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court about 1:30 a.m. The man was critically injured but is expected to recover, according to police.

A motive for the assault is still under investigation.

Bank nearLeisure World robbed

Montgomery County Police have released a computer-generated composite of one of the suspects in a June 13 robbery at Provident Bank in Silver Spring.

Two men, one with a handgun, entered Provident Bank at 3822 International Drive just before noon. The men stole cash and fled the bank in a dark Honda that was recovered a short distance from the bank and determined to have been stolen in Baltimore.

The man pictured in the composite is black, 23 to 25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighed 165 pounds. He had severe acne around the mouth and cheeks, a medium complexion, short hair and possibly stubble. He wore a dark blue or black short sleeve T-shirt, dark blue or black jeans, a dark baseball cap and a bandana.

The second robber was black, between 23 and 27 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighed between 140 and 160 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt, jeans and a bandana.
