Take a trip back to a time when radio and supper clubs were king with the big band swing of Radio King Orchestra at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Baker Park Bandshell, 2nd and Bentz Streets, Frederick. This free performance is part of the Summer Concert Series, presented by Celebrate Frederick, Inc.

Channeling the sophisticated yet carefree nature of the Rat Pack, Radio King Orchestra embraces the musical styles of the first half of the 20th Century, with a repertoire that includes the big band standards from the ‘30s and ‘40s and the lush ‘‘Vegas Swing” from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

Playing the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald and Bobby Darin, to name a few, the band has dazzled audiences at Carter Barron Amphitheater, the Millennium Stage and the Kennedy Center Concert Hall.

Washington, D.C.’s most exciting and elegant big band will have visitors out of their seats, on their feet and dancing all night long.

A carillon bell recital performed by Robert Grogan, carillonneur at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., will be held at 6 p.m.

Snacks will also be available for purchase from 6-8:30 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, check www.CelebrateFrederick.com for cancellations.

While performances are free to the public, the Summer Concert Committee encourages patrons to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. All items collected benefit the Frederick Food Bank.
