Fifteen-year old pianist and music prodigy, Matt Wigler, returns to the Summer Concert Series stage at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Baker Park bandshell, 2nd and Bentz Streets, Frederick.
Currently promoting his debut album, "Matt Wigler XIII," Wigler has wowed audiences all over North America. Most famous for his unique blend of blues, jazz, funk, and New Orleans styles, the music pioneer has only been on this earth for a short 15 years. In that time, he has already shared the stage with some of music's elite including Buckwheat Zydeco, Buddy Guy and Bobby Rush.
While performances are free to the public, the Summer Concert Series committee encourages patrons to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. Non-perishable items such as canned meats and vegetables, soups, peanut butter, cereal, rice and pastas are requested. All items collected benefit the Frederick Food Bank.
Following the performance, audiences are invited to stay for the bells of Carillon at 8:30 p.m. For information, call 301-600-CITY (2489). Visit www.CelebrateFrederick.com.
