Two men were killed and a third was injured in an early morning crash on the Capital Beltway near River Road on Monday, according to Maryland State Police.

Mateo Rios, 21, of Falls Church, Va., and David Castro, 22, of Alexandria, Va., were both killed when their Dodge Neon flipped over and hit a parked pickup truck, police said. Melvin Martinez, 22, of Falls Church, was taken to Suburban Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the Neon was traveling at 1:21 a.m. on the outer loop of I-495 south of River Road. The driver was going too fast to negotiate a curve in the road and lost control of the car. The car turned over and hit a F350 pickup truck with a trailer that was parked on the side of the road.

Two people in the truck were not injured, police said.
