George Tough

George Howard Tough, 67, of Sabillasville, formerly of Rockville and East Stroudsburg, Pa., died July 6, 2008, at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg Pa. Born Oct. 10, 1940, in East Stroudsburg, Pa., he was a son of the late Robert J. and Mabel Cramer Tough.

He was the husband of Shirley A. Dougherty Tough.

Mr. Tough enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville in 1958. He was an electronics specialist working for DRS Signal Solutions of Gaithersburg. His hobbies included square dancing, hunting and fishing, and he liked to tie his own flies for fly fishing. He was a Ham radio operator.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Jennifer Azadi of Gettysburg, Pa., and Catherine E. Naugle and husband, Donald of Waynesboro, Pa.; a sister, Barbara A. Callahan and husband, James of Massanuten Va.; two brothers, Robert J. Tough and wife, June of Berlin, and Joseph J. Tough and wife, Betty of Gaithersburg; seven grandchildren and seventeen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, William J. Tough.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
