Cut roads, cut budget

Because of the exorbitant price of gasoline, buyers are purchasing smaller cars and driving less than before. Because of both of these realities, cars are placing less strain on our road system. Thus, a cut in the road maintenance budget seems to be an easily defensible way to reduce the budget deficit.
