Anchored the Tuscarora boys 4x200 meter relay team to a first place finish at the Class 4A state meet while winning the 400. Also took third place in the 200 and was on the second place state 4x400 squad.
Field athlete of the Year
Erick Artusio, Thomas Johnson, Jr.
After locking up the Frederick County title from a field with the other three boys state champions, Artusio reached 15-feet, two inches at the 4A state meet, setting a new state record.
Coach of the Year

Challenged his team to win four meets – the Monocacy Valley Athletic League's Chesapeake Conference, the Frederick County, the Class 4A North Region, and the 4A state meets. The Patriots made good on all four said goals.

Jose Depadua, Walkersville, Soph., 100 meters
Helped the Lions to a third place team finish in the Frederick County meet by blazing to first in the 100.
Brock Chapman, Thomas Johnson, Sr., triple junp
An integral part to the Patriots' title-winning machine, Chapman was third in the state meet in the triple jump.
Marquis Woodyard, Thomas Johnson, Jr., 110, 300 hurdles
Mastering an event in his first year running it, he picked up gold in the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Connor Pencek, Glenelg, Sr., 3,200
Won the Class 1A state title in the 800 and anchored two scoring relay teams.
Nick Huang, Urbana, Sr., 1,600
His second-place finish in the 1,600 was the fastest four-lap time of the All-Gazette field.

Won the 1A state title in the 1,600.

Consistently jumped 21 feet through the outdoor season. Won the 1A state finals title.
Grant Smith, Brunswick, Jr., Shot Put, Discus
With improvements to his form, drastically improved to earn a county title in the shot put and 1A titles in the shot and discus.

Multi-sport star won the county discus and placed second in states.
Corey Blain, Middletown, Sr. High jump
The Frederick County champion (6-2) took fourth in the 2A state championships.

The Lions' University of Texas-bound athlete was sidelined during the postseason.
Jimmy Miller, Urbana, Jr., 3,200 meters
The long-distance standout showed plenty of promise for next year, capturing the Frederick crown in the 3,200.
Nathan Diaz, Brunswick, Pole Vault
Completing a Frederick County sweep in states, Diaz took the 1A crown.
Dustin Fishman, Urbana, Jr., Pole Vault
Helped the county to continue making a name for itself by winning the 3A state competition, the second straight outdoor title and fourth in a row between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Alex Edelman, Middletown Sr., Pole Vault
Prepped by taking on top-notch competitors during the Frederick County meet, capped off a successful career by taking the 2A state championship, the third of his career.
Kevin Johnson, Tuscarora, Sr., Triple Jump
Ended his season with a county title in the triple jump while also helping the Titans place first in the 4x200 relay in the state championships.
