For the 26th year, classic rock and country bands will storm Baker Park for Frederick's free Fourth of July celebration.
With six well-known regional performers hitting the rock and country stages, attendees will have plenty of music to celebrate, especially when Bruce in the USA, a Springsteen tribute band, takes the main stage at 5 p.m.
Bruce in the USA has performed across the country, stunning audiences with their sound and look, exactly like the famous rocker and his E-Street Band.
"We thought that this was the perfect fit for the Fourth of July. Frontman [Matt Ryan] looks like Bruce Springsteen and they sound just like him," Riley said.
Other performers during the day's festivities include Hectic Red, Baltimore-based classic rockers, who will kick off the musical performances on the main stage.
Together for a sensational 22 years, the band has performed at Frederick's Summer Concert Series, but never for the July Fourth celebration.
"We always get a great vibe from playing in Frederick," said guitarist Ben Sherman.
Renowned in Maryland, Hectic Red covers songs from the likes of The Steely Band, Yes, Beatles, The Eagles and Crosby, Steels and Nash.
"Our selection of songs is unique. We'll often perform four-part harmonies," Sherman said.
Musicians most of their lives, each member of the Hectic Red quartet performs vocals during concerts.
Sherman said they are looking forward to the Fourth of July event and seeing the other bands play.
"We're hoping to stay all day and enjoy everything," Sherman said.
Over at the country stage, local radio station 99.9 WFRE has lined up big names like Williams Riley, leading the country sound at 4 p.m. The band's tour includes upcoming performances in New Jersey, Chicago and New Orleans where its bluesy mix of country has attracted wide audiences.
Following Williams Riley at 7 p.m., Steve Azar, singer of "I Don't Have to Be Me (Til Monday)" will take the stage.
Azar recently released a popular video for "Moo La Moo," kicking off a dance craze that will definitely get people moving in the grass of Baker Park.
A singer since the age of 14, Azar has played the slide guitar and mandolin and also wrote all of the songs on his most recent album.
Back on the main stage, the Rock & Roll Relics will perform their trademark oldies at 2:45 p.m. Relics' roster includes hits from the 50s and 60s and will get people doing the "Twist and Shout." Recently performing at the Summer Concert Series, the band entertains with a catchy, upbeat sound familiar to most around the Frederick region.
Following the fireworks, the celebration will culminate with a performance on Baker Park's bells by the Groningen Carillon Duo from the Netherlands. With patriotic music pumping out of the 49 bells, the sound will be an ideal ending to the Fourth of July in Frederick.
