The Bowie Baysox notched six wins on their recent eight-game road trip, finishing with a 5-1 victory at Altoona on Monday night.
Bowie scored four runs in the top of the first inning, and starting pitcher Bobby Livingston made the lead stand, allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings. Ryohei Tanaka tossed two perfect innings in relief.
The Baysox got all the runs they needed in the first inning. Eric Crozier and Dave Krynzel each hit two-run homers off Altoona Curve starter Derek Hankins. Bowie added its other run in the fourth on a solo homer by Ambiorix Concepcion.
Livingston improved to 6-2 and lowered his ERA to 3.62. Crozier, who joined the Baysox on June 19, was hitting .333 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 10 games with the team through Monday.
Bowie was scheduled to open a five-game series at Prince George's Stadium against the Akron Aeros with a game on Tuesday and a doubleheader on Wednesday after The Star went to press.
The teams continue the series with a 7:05 p.m. game tonight and a 6:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday. Bowie then heads back to Altoona for a three-game set starting Saturday.
