The following is a summary of incidents in eastern Montgomery County to which county police recently responded. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Silver Spring district
Aggravated assault
-June 9: A man pushed another man in a dispute, broke a bottle and threatened to cut him 7:30 a.m. in a parking lot in the 700 block of University Boulevard East in Silver Spring. The victim was not injured.
-June 13: A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man after a traffic altercation 4 p.m. in the area of Carroll Avenue and Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.
Robbery
-June 13: Three males entered the Twin Towers Market, 1110 Fidler Lane in Silver Spring at 4:20 p.m., pushed an employee against a wall and took cash from a register. They fled in a four-door Ford Crown Victoria.
-June 11: Three males assaulted a male juvenile, took his property and fled 11:35 a.m. in the area of the 10100 block of Sutherland Road in Silver Spring.
Robbery/assault
-June 10: A group of male juveniles assaulted two male juveniles and took property 6:20 p.m. in the 11100 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. Two attackers were male and about 17 years old. One was Asian, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds and wore a chain with a brass knuckles pendant.
Armed robbery
-June 11: Two males grabbed a man, displayed a knife, searched the victim's pockets and took his property 3:04 a.m. in the parking lot of the Bestway, 8540 Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. They fled in a white Ford Taurus.
-June 14: During an argument, a male took property from a man and cut him with a knife 1:40 a.m. in the area of the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring. They fled in a white four-door vehicle.
-June 15: A male armed with a gun took cash 11:11 p.m. from the Eastern Carryout, 10205 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring. He fled in a sedan with Washington, D.C., license plates.
Armed robbery/assault
-June 9: Three males got out of a four-door black Dodge, threw a man to the ground, punched him, cut him with a knife and took his property 9:39 p.m. in the area of White Oak Drive and Woodland Drive in Silver Spring.
Attempted strong-arm robbery
-June 9: A woman was sitting in her vehicle 9:28 p.m. in a parking lot in the 1500 block of November Circle in Silver Spring when a male entered the vehicle and attempted to take personal property. The victim held onto her property and fled in the vehicle.
Strong-arm robbery
-June 8: Three men demanded a male's property 4:30 p.m. in the area of Cherry Hill Road and O'Fallon Street in Silver Spring. The victim complied and the suspects fled.
Indecent exposure
-June 8: A female juvenile saw a man exposing himself at the bottom of a staircase in her apartment building 7 a.m. in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard in Silver Spring. The suspect fled on foot.
Vehicle larceny
-Eight vehicles were broken into, mostly in the last evening to early morning hours between June 8 and June 13 in the unit block of Leatherwood Court, 15200 block of Old Columbia Pike, 5700 block of Huckburn Court, 15300 block of Lions Den Road, 2800 block of Shepperton Terrace, 2900 block of Lisage Way, 13600 block of Sheffield Manor Drive, and 13000 block of Gershwin Way in Silver Spring. Means of entry varied; electronic equipment, stereo equipment, and cash taken.
Residential burglary
-Gilbert Place, 8700 block, between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. June 15. Attempted forced entry no entry gained; nothing taken.
-Avenel Road, 9400 block, between 7:12 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 15. No forced entry; property taken.
-Columbia Pike, 11200 block, between 9:25 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. June 8. Unknown entry; property taken.
-Mozart Drive, 2800 block, between noon June 8 and 5:10 p.m. June 9. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
-Autumn Glen Circle, 3600 block, between 6:30 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. June 9. Unknown entry; property taken.
-Colgate Way, 13600 block, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 12. Forced entry; property taken.
-Colgate Way, 13700 block, 12:25 p.m. June 15. No forced entry; property taken.
Takoma Park
Robbery
-June 24: Four males armed with handguns took property from a woman 12:27 a.m. at Pizza Movers in the 6900 block of Laurel Avenue. The victim jumped into her vehicle and locked the door, at which point one of the males tried to force open the door. The victim's husband came out and yelled at the males and they fled on foot through the rear parking lot of neighboring apartment buildings.
-June 23: Four males armed with handguns took property 11:33 p.m. from employees at a business in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Avenue. One victim was sitting inside a work vehicle with two of her co-workers when one of the robbers began knocking on the door demanding that it be opened. The victim opened the door, the robber demanded property and the victim complied. Another robber assaulted and took property from a second victim who was standing outside the vehicle, while two other robbers remained at the rear of the vehicle. A third victim was exiting a business when the third robber ran toward her. The victim ran back into the business and locked the doors.
Auto Theft
-New Hampshire Avenue, 6800 block, 8 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. June 18. 2003 Jeep Liberty stolen.
Theft from auto
-Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 7500 block of Dundalk Road, between 1:30 a.m. and 6:04 a.m. June 23. Forced entry; property taken.
Theft from auto
-Sligo Creek Parkway, 700 block, between 9:30 p.m. June 20 and 1:32 p.m. June 21. Forced entry; property taken.
-Circle Avenue, 400 block, between midnight and 7 a.m. June 18; No forced entry; property taken.
Arrests
-June 18: A male juvenile was charged with destruction of property 2:46 a.m. in the 500 block of New York Avenue.
Wheaton-Glenmont district
Aggravated assault (knife/machete)
-June 14: Two men were arrested after an alleged aggravated assault 1:50 a.m. at Grandview Avenue and Ennalls in Silver Spring. The two were involved in a dispute inside a restaurant.
Armed robbery
-June 11: Three males put a gun to the head of a male juvenile and took property from a female juvenile 10 p.m. in the 900 block of Gable Street in Silver Spring.
Strong-arm robbery
-June 12: Three males robbed a pizza delivery driver after calling in a false order 10:50 p.m. in the 18000 block of Branchwood Lane in Silver Spring.
-June 14: A male took a purse from a woman 11:40 a.m. inside a Metro garage stairwell at 12501 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring.
-June 15: A male chased down a man and recovered his property after the robber took items from him at midnight inside the Telvis Restaurant, 11222 Grandview Ave. in Silver Spring.
Peeping Tom
-June 11: A girl, 16, saw a man looking inside her window 6:32 a.m. in the 3000 block of Weller Road in Silver Spring. The victim's father chased the suspect to a white Chevrolet Astrovan.
Vehicle larceny
-Several vehicles were broken into between June 8 and June 17 in the 3100 block of Beaverwood Lane, 14000 block of Blazer Lane, 13100 block of Jingle Lane, 2800 block of Hewitt Avenue, 3200 block of Whispering Pines Drive, 3900 block of Bel Pre Road, 2900 block of Bluff Point lane, 1700 block of Merrifields Drive, Park Vista Drive and Massanutten in Silver Spring. All forced entry; vehicle parts, GPS devices, jewelry, briefcase, tools, and electronic equipment were taken.
-Several vehicles were broken into between June 8 and June 17 in the 12400 block of Vinton Terrace, 13800 block of Drake Drive, 3600 block of Janet Road, 4600 block of Wissahican Avenue, 4700 block Miltfred Terrace, 3500 block of May Street, 13600 block Parkland Drive, and the 12800 block of Parkland Drive. Most of the vehicles were unlocked; tapes, electronic equipment, stereos, money and lawn care equipment taken.
Commercial burglary
-Mirrors Barber Shop, 28 Vital Way, overnight between June 13 and June 14. Forced entry; property taken.
-Karasik Child Care, 10611 Tenbrook Drive, 1:35 a.m. June 10. Forced entry; property taken.
Residential burglary
-Notley Road, 13700 block, between June 9 and June 10. Forced entry; property taken.
-Beaverwood Lane, 3100 block, between 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. June 15. No forced entry to garage; property taken.
-Munson Street, 2700 block, at an unknown time between June 11 and June 12. Unknown entry; nothing taken
-Grandview Avenue, 11700 block, between 8:05 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. June 10. No forced entry; property taken.
-Collegeview Drive, 11600 block, between June 8 and June 12. Forced entry; nothing taken.
