Playing in the final group, one behind McCarthy, Bosdosh took a one-stroke edge into the final nine. But there was a reversal of fortune on the devilish par-4 11th hole.
McCarthy chipped in for a birdie three, while Bosdosh bogeyed the hole. McCarthy then birdied the short par-4 15th. Bosdosh birdied the par-5 16th, but bogeyed the downhill par-3 17th hole.
Robert Zehnder of Trump National D.C. recorded an even-par 72 in the second round to jump over nine players and take third place just ahead of Nate Cohan of Lakewood (149).
McCarthy's victory sealed the first back-to-back titles at this event since Gary Marlowe in 1976-77. He and Bosdosh also recently qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur and went one-two at the Frank Emmet Schoolboy at Columbia Country Club last week.
