Searchers today found the bodies of both Walkersville High School students who drowned Tuesday night in Little Pipe Creek in northern Frederick County.

According to Chief Michael P. Dmuchowski, a spokesman for the Frederick County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, the body of Michael White, 14, was recovered at 10:30 a.m. Two civilians assisting the family with the search found the body about 150 yards west of Route 194 and along the south bank.

Maryland State Police divers, search dogs, fire and rescue personnel continued to search the remainder of the Little Pipe Creek when they found the body of Thomas Plunkard, 16, about two miles west of Route 194. The victim was found by a member of the Chesapeake Search Dogs at 2:05 p.m.

The boys went to the creek near a railroad bridge on Md. Route 194 Tuesday night to watch the overflowing Little Pipe Creek. When they did not return home, one of their fathers went to the bridge and found clothing and a bicycle that belonged to one of the boys.

He immediately called police, who started searching for the boys.
