A Langley Park man was arrested Monday after fleeing to New Jersey after he allegedly fatally stabbed another man in a domestic dispute June 15.
Leonel Rodriguez, 27, of the 8100 block of 15th Avenue has been charged with first-degree murder for the stabbing death of Juan Izales, 27, of the same block, according to Prince George's County police.
Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a spokesman for Prince George's County Police, could not confirm the relationship between the two men but said the stabbing June 15 resulted from a domestic dispute.
Police responded to the 8100 block of 15th Avenue and discovered Izales in a parking lot with multiple stab wounds. He was admitted to a local hospital and died Friday from his injuries, according to police.
Leonel Rodriguez was arrested in Camden, N.J., and is awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
"Initially [police] thought he was going to try to possibly leave the country," Cpl. Rodriguez said.
