A jogger found the body of a 20-year-old African-American man near the Great Seneca Creek Stream Valley trail, also known as the Seneca Creek Greenway, near Grassy Knoll Terrace in Germantown Friday morning.

The homicide victim found by a jogger near Great Seneca Park in Germantown on Friday died of gunshot wounds, the state Medical Examiner's Office ruled Monday.
Montgomery County Police identified the victim as Rakeimi Jabari Hardin Jr., 23, of the 1600 block of McMahon Road in Silver Spring, according to a police statement. Few other details were available as detectives continued investigating his death.
Montgomery County Police and fire and rescue units were dispatched at 8:24 a.m. Friday after Hardin's body was found by a jogger near a trail off Grassy Knoll Terrace known as the Great Seneca Creek Stream Valley or the Seneca Creek Greenway. Police said Hardin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case to call the major crimes division of the Montgomery County Police at 240-773-5070. They specifically requested that anyone who may have heard or seen anything from Thursday evening through Friday morning to contact police.
