LibrariesEach branch of the Frederick County Public Libraries offers a variety of programs , from summer reading games to bookmark contests and computer programming. The library system also works to connect residents with ever changing information and ideas. Special events and programs are offered on a monthly basis for all age groups. More and more, residents are expecting broader services from Frederick libraries. As a result, branches are expanding and new ones are in the works. The Urbana Regional Library and the Edward F. Fry Library in Point of Rocks opened in 2006. A new library for Thurmont is planned to open by fall 2008. Bookmobile The bookmobile travels throughout Frederick County, offering videos, music CDs and books-on-tape, as well as fiction and non-fiction selections for adults and children.
