A carjacking occurred around midnight on Thursday at a Bethesda 7-Eleven on River Road. Police are seeking tips to help track down three suspects in the case.

Police said the victim made a purchase inside the 7-Eleven at 5112 River Road, then returned to his parked car outside of the store. He was thrown to the ground by one assailant and stomped on by two others.

The suspects then swiped the victim’s keys and drove off in his car — a red 2006 Mazda 3 with Maryland license plate 1CYP49.

Police from the Montgomery County Police Department’s 2nd District arrived on the scene at approximately 12:09 a.m. Thursday.

The suspects were described as black males, one with a heavy build and the other two with average or medium builds. Police were obtaining surveillance photos as of Thursday afternoon, and expected to release them soon.

The victim ‘‘seems to be fine” and did not seek medical treatment for any injuries, said MCPD spokeswoman Melanie Hadley.
