Add another name to the list of potential candidates considering a run for City Council.

Tracy Pakulniewicz-Chidiac, a public relations consultant who volunteers on Councilwoman Susan R. Hoffmann’s mayoral campaign, recently picked up an election packet from the City Clerk’s office.

‘‘I’m considering it,” Pakulniewicz-Chidiac said about throwing her hat into the ring for a council seat.

The field of candidates includes five announced and at least five more potential candidates interested in four available council seats in the November election.

Incumbents Phyllis R. Marcuccio and Anne M. Robbins have confirmed they are seeking re-election. Theodric Anderson, Carl Henn and Brigitta Mullican also confirmed they are running.

Councilman Robert E. Dorsey has not decided if he will shoot for mayor or council this time.

If Pakulniewicz-Chidiac joins the list, she would get Hoffmann’s support.

‘‘She certainly is supporting me and I would be supporting her candidacy,” Hoffmann said on Monday. ‘‘I find her to be very smart, thoughtful and the kind of person that would consider issue on all sides before making a decision. She would come to the meetings prepared.”

Pakulniewicz-Chidiac has lived in Rockville for four years and is president of the Cambridge Walk I Homeowners Association. Her resume includes a stint in the White House Office of Communications and a year working as director of operations for movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer in California.

Interested in runningfor office?

The Rockville Chamber of Commerce will hold a seminar on Saturday geared toward educating residents about how to run for elected office — be it city, county or state.

Information on running a successful campaign, fundraising and basic procedural requirements will be presented during the four-hour event. Panel discussions featuring elected officials, including County Councilman Michael J. Knapp, (D-Dist. 2) of Germantown, will be featured to offer guidance on winning local elections.

Panelist comments will be limited to campaign logistics, not political topics.

The seminar will begin with networking at 9:30 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. at the Sandy Spring Bank Financial Center, 611 Rockville Pike.

Cost is $20 for Rockville Chamber members, $30 for members of any other chamber in the county and $40 for people who are not members of any chamber. Registration needs to taken in advance.

Election air timeup for grabs

Application packets are now available to organizations interested in having an election debate or forum televised on The Rockville Channel (cable channel 11) before the upcoming city election in November.

‘‘Anybody can have a debate,” Catherine Tuck Parrish, deputy city manager, said. ‘‘They don’t need permission from the city.”

What groups are vying for is the cable air time.

The city does require applicant organizations to have a neutral stance when it comes to the candidates.

Televised debates or forums must be held no later than Oct. 20 to ensure they will be replayed before the election.

If more than three organizations meet the criteria outlined by city campaign policy, a drawing will be conducted to select three groups.

The city also airs four-minute presentations from candidates running for mayor and council.
