Coach of the Year
Billy Goodman, Sherwood, 9th year
Beat top three seeds on the way to second-straight regional title, then guided Warriors to first-ever state title over C. Milton Wright.
Player of the Year
Kevin Brady, Gaithersburg, Sr., P
Went 7-0 with two saves and 98 strikeouts, allowing just two earned runs in 48 1⁄3 innings. Was drafted in 44th round by the Orioles.
First Team
Danny Angle, Good Counsel, Sr., C
Navy-bound backstop hit .313 with three home runs, 14 RBI and 11 runs.
Shane Boyd, Damascus, Sr., OF
Sure-handed center fielder hit .413 with on-base percentage of .600, landing ticket to Brooks Robinson All-Star Game.
Brian Brusoe, Magruder, Sr., P
Dominant left-hander compiled 5-2 record, 1.79 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 43 innings. Opponents batted just .203 against him.
Michael Campos, Wootton, Sr., OF⁄P
Dual threat guided surprising Patriots offensively (.393, 17 RBI, 15 SB) and on mound (5-1, 2.16 ERA, 35 IP).
Tommy Cunningham, Blake, Soph., 3B⁄P
Brilliant at plate (.492, 17 runs, 25 RBI), on mound (4-2, 1.51 ERA, 55 strikeouts, 42 IP) and in field (one error in 34 chances).
Tom Gilchrist, Sherwood, Sr., SS
Had three hits and an RBI in state final win. Finished season with .405 average, 26 RBI, 21 runs.
Kevin Johnson, Quince Orchard, Jr., OF
Batted .482 with 3 home runs, 13 RBI and 28 runs and a .695 on-base percentage from the leadoff spot. Added 24 stolen bases in as many tries.
Matt Kaler, Whitman, Sr., SS
Bound for University of Massachusetts-Amherst, batted .451 with 3 home runs, 25 RBI, 26 runs and eight doubles to lead Vikings to regional semifinals.
Blake Overmiller, Bullis, Soph., C
All-IAC first teamer threw out nine of 12 would-be base stealers, picked off six runners and batted .418 with 5 home runs, eight doubles and 17 RBI.
Ryan Rehman, Blake, Sr., P
Went 4-1 with 1.57 ERA, 60 strikeouts, holding opponents to .193 average and graduating with multiple school records.
Mike Ryan, Quince Orchard, Jr., OF⁄P
Southpaw went 7-1 with 2.12 ERA, while also batting .377 with eight doubles and 26 RBI.
Zach Skellchock, Clarksburg, Sr., OF⁄P
Capped solid career both at the plate (.491, 6 doubles, 7 triples, 27 runs and 13 RBI) and the mound (3-3, one save, 2.87 ERA, 43 strikeouts).
Jake Taylor, Good Counsel, Soph., 1B
Six-foot-4 slugger hit .409 with 3 home runs, 11 doubles, 31 RBI and 23 runs, with slugging percentage of .659.
John Wagner, Sherwood, Sr., 2B
Helped guide inexperienced Warriors to state title with steady glove and consistent bat (.362, 15 RBI, 25 runs) in leadoff spot.

Alex Eliopoulos, The Heights, Sr., P
Collected five wins, three saves, 2.60 ERA and 90 strikeouts.
Travis Hart, Paint Branch, Sr., 2B
Capped career with a .490 batting average and 20 RBI, 17 runs and four doubles.
Tommy Hughes, Poolesville, Sr., 3B⁄OF
Broke out bat in final campaign, hitting .467 with 5 home runs, 19 RBI, 29 runs and 9 doubles.
Tyler Klitsch, Seneca Valley, Jr., P⁄3B
Guided Screaming Eagles to first state playoff appearance, batting .353 and going 5-3 on mound.
