The Frederick County Workforce Development Board named Jason Judd and Leesa Hopkins members. Judd is director for Service Employees International Union and Hopkins is an account executive for WHAG, NBC25.


MacroGenics Inc. of Rockville named Dr. Jean-Christophe Tellier executive vice president and chief commercial officer and James Karrels vice president and CFO. Previously, Tellier was chairman and CEO of Novartis Pharma France and Novartis Group France. Karrels was executive director of finance at Jazz Pharmaceuticals Inc. and a director in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch & Co.

MedImmune of Gaithersburg promoted Jacqueline Hall to global vice president, product development team leadership; Lorin Roskos to vice president and global head of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and bioanalysis in translational sciences; and Beth Wensley to vice president, project management. Hall, before joining Cambridge Antibody Technology, now MedImmune in 2006, is based at the company’s location in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Previously, she worked for GlaxoSmithKline, SmithKline Beecham, Pharmaco-LSR and Schering-Plough. Before Roskos worked for AstraZeneca, now owner of MedImmune, he worked for Abgenix Inc., Amgen and Eli Lilly. Before joining MedImmune in 2001, Wensley worked for Incyte Genomics, Raychem Corp. and Syntex Pharmaceuticals. MedImmune also named Erik-Jan Dekker vice president, international regulatory affairs, vaccines; and Dr. Reginald Seeto vice president, global strategic marketing and portfolio management. Dekker previously worked for Baxter Healthcare and Laboratoire Francais du Fractionnement et des Biotechnologies. Seeto worked for Organon International, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals and McKinsey & Co.

Opus East LLC of Rockville promoted Michael Newland to vice president of construction, Matt Holbrook to senior director of real estate; and Bob Mazzuca to senior director of construction.

Dr. William T. Jennings joined the medical staff of Potomac Physician Associates in Kensington.

NextPoint of Gaithersburg named Zane Long vice president, global partner and channel sales. Previously, Long worked for Broadwing Communications,, GTE Communications and Level 3.

Goodman & Co. of Rockville named Nancy A. Guerra a business specialist.

BioReliance Corp. of Rockville named Donna Klein vice president, human resources. Previously, Klein was vice president, human resources for QuadraMed and Compucare.

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce named John J. Delaney, a founding partner of Linowes & Blocher of Bethesda, winner of its Jim Tavel Award, its highest individual award. Del. Brian J. Feldman (D-Dist. 15) of Potomac won the chamber’s Legislator of the Year Award.

MLF LexServ of Bethesda named Sharmaine Miller vice president. Previously, Miller worked for Allstate Insurance Co.

Ferguson Asset Management Inc. of Potomac named Dawn Doebler senior wealth manager.

Human Genome Sciences of Rockville named John L. Lamattina a director. Previously, Lamattina was president of Pfizer Global Research and Development. He is also a director of Neurogen Corp. and a Boston College trustee.

BidEup of Bethesda named Richard Schroth chairman of its advisory board. Schroth, president and CEO of Executive Insights, is former chief technology officer of Perot Systems, executive vice president of Computer Sciences Corp. and chief technology officer with Marriott Corp.

HealthExtras Inc. of Rockville named Darren Sivertsen executive vice president. Previously, Sivertsen was senior vice president of operations for Sierra Health Services and COO of its insurance operations.

Prince George’s

Safeway of Lanham promoted Jeff Demarais and Peter Neff to district manager in its Eastern division in Lanham. Previously, both worked in the company’s Portland, Ore., division.

SunEdison of Beltsville named Ron Mantay country manager of SunEdison Canada.

Bozzuto Management Co. of Greenbelt promoted Chad Cooley to senior vice president. Cooley joined Bozzuto in 1997 as a leasing consultant; since 2006, he has been vice president, asset management. Also, Stephanie Williams was promoted to vice president, new business development. William joined Bozzuto in 2004 as a development associate.


The Columbia Bank promoted Jeff McCarron of Eldersburg to senior vice president, retail banking. Previously, McCarron, who joined the bank in 1994, was group vice president, retail banking. Earlier he was a branch manager for Commercial Credit Corp.

Planned Systems International Inc. in Columbia named Jeff W.S. Lin CFO.

STTAR Center Inc. of Columbia named Katie Cogan and Ray Heim therapists in its clinical department. Previously, Cogan worked on the Howard County Mobile Crisis Team. Heim worked for the Howard County Department of Social Services.

Mary Redmond was named business counselor for the Maryland Small Business Development Center’s satellite office at the Howard County Center for Business and Technology Development in Columbia. Previously, Redmond was project manager-training and marketing director of the small-business center at Towson University and director of operations for the Council for Equal Business Opportunity.

Medifast Inc. of Owings Mills named Barry B. Bondroff a director. Bondroff is a senior managing director with Smart and previously worked for Grabush, Newman & Co. PA.

Tecore Networks of Columbia named Scott Hill executive vice president of global commercial and federal sales. Previously, Hill was chief architect at Nextel Communications and also worked for WebSolve, Visual Networks and Financial Interactive, UUNet and Booz Allen & Hamilton. He also was a Navy SEAL.

The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Maryland chapter in Baltimore named Tom Ballentine vice president for policy and government relations. Previously, Ballentine was director of policy and government relations for the Home Builders Association of Maryland.
