The following is a summary of incidents in the upcounty to which the Montgomery County Police responded recently. The words "arrested" and "charged" do not imply guilt.
Armed robbery
- On April 29 at 3:50 p.m. at Hollywood Video, 18012 Mateny Road in Germantown. A male suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled to a waiting vehicle driven by a female suspect. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 30-40, 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, 200-225 pounds, wearing motorcycle-type gloves. Suspect No. 2 was described as a white male, 20-30, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 140-160 pounds. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Ford 150 pick-up truck, pulling a landscape trailer.
- On May 3 between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. at Middlebrook Road and Gunners Branch Road in Germantown. The suspect passed the victim who was walking down the road. Four suspects assaulted victim and removed his property.
Strong-arm robbery
- On May 5 at 4:20 p.m. at Belle Chase Drive and Sweet Meadow Lane in Laytonsville. The victim was standing outside when the suspect vehicle approached. Two suspects exited the vehicle and demanded the victim empty his pockets. The victim handed over his property and the suspects fled. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Chevy, 4-door.
- On April 30 at 9:50 p.m. at Clopper Road and Cinnamon Drive in Germantown. The victim, while on the bus, was assaulted by four suspects and his property was taken. The victim fled the bus at Clopper Road and Metropolitan Grove Road in Gaithersburg and notified the police. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 20-22, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 130 pounds, crew cut. Suspect No. 2 was described as a black male, 18-20, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, dreadlocks/twist. Suspect No. 3 was described as a black male, 23-25, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, crew cut. Suspect No. 4 was described as a black male, 22-24, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds.
Theft
- On April 30 at 4 p.m. at Pinnacle Drive and Germantown Road in Germantown. The victim was standing at a bus stop when the suspect approached and grabbed the victim's purse. The suspect fled down Germantown Road. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20-25, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170-180 pounds.
Vehicle theft
- 20700 block of Crystal Hill Circle in Germantown, between 12:30 a.m. and 6:50 a.m. April 29. 1995 Honda Civic stolen.
- 13200 block of Astoria Hill Court in Germantown, between 8:25 p.m. and 7 a.m. on April 29. 1999 Honda Civic stolen.
Vehicle larceny
- 21000 block of Frederick Road in Germantown, between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on April 28. Vehicle left unlocked, purse taken.
- 19600 block Gunners Branch Road in Germantown, between 5:25 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on April 30. Vehicle left unlocked, purse, Nintendo DS taken.
- Waring Station Road and Churubusco Lane in Germantown, at 7:45 a.m. on May 2. Suspects were trying to break into a truck when an officer observed them. The suspects fled as the officer arrived. Suspect No. 1 was described as a black male, 16-19, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 140-150 pounds. Suspect No. 2 was described as a black male, 17-19, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, with an Afro.
- Unit block of Cross Laurel Court in Germantown, between 3 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on April 28. Tampered with the door lock, tools taken.
- 19100 block of Aldenham Court in Germantown, between 8 p.m. on April 28 and 3:30 p.m. on April 30. Tried to pry window, no entry gained.
Residential burglary
- 18700 block of Harmony Woods Lane in Germantown, at 12:52 p.m. on May 5. Officers responded for an alarm call and found damage to the property. No entry made, no property taken.
- 12100 block of Skip Jack Drive in Germantown, at 3 p.m. on April 24. The victim did not report the incident as nothing seemed to be missing. On May 1 at 6 a.m., the victim awoke to find his vehicle gone. The victim contacted police and reported the burglary and stolen vehicle. 2008 Ford Mustang, 2-door, gray, with Maryland tags stolen.
- 22600 block of Frederick Road in Germantown, between 6:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on May 5. Forced entry, property taken.
- 13700 block of Larksong Drive in Germantown, between midnight and 3 p.m. on May 4.
- 19400 block of Rayfield Drive in Germantown, between 7 p.m. on May 2 and 12 p.m. on May 3. Entry through unlocked garage, two bikes taken.
