Prince George's County closes fewer cases in almost every crime category from January to November 2008 compared with the average for large counties and metropolitan jurisdictions over the same time period, according to a recent county budget report.
The following statistics show the county closure rate compared with the national average for metropolitan counties:
Prince George's/Metropolitan
Homicide: 51%/60.7%
Forcible Rape: 56.1%/43.5%
Robbery: 19.6%/27.5%
Aggravated Assault: 31.6%/58.4%
TOTAL VIOLENT CRIME: 27%/50.3%
Burglary: 6%/13.3%
Larceny/Theft: 9.2%/17.5%
Motor Vehicle Theft: 5.3%/15.1%
TOTAL PROPERTY CRIME 7.7%/16.2%
