Mount Rainier resident Y'Anna Crawley continued her streak on television station BET's gospel singing-contest show, "Sunday's Best," all the way to the top when she was crowned the national winner on Sunday night.
Crawley, 32, who is also the lead singer for Washington, D.C.-based The L!ssen, won a national recording contract and a new 2009 Lincoln MKS from the show. Viewers voted for the winner, with Crawley winning the majority of the more than 1 million votes cast.
She went head-to-head with other contestants from around the nation, and beat out finalist Jessica Reedy, 20, of Michigan after 10 weeks of competition.
Out of the top 20 contestants on the show, three were from Prince George's County.
