Wheaton-Glenmont district

Armed robbery

*April 24: A man took property from a juvenile male and cut him with a piece of glass 9:30 p.m. at Layhill Road and Greenery Lane.

Strong-arm robberies

*April 23: Police reported a ‘‘domestic-related” robbery between victims who know one another about 7:45 p.m. in the 3200 block of Hewitt Avenue.

*April 25: Four teens followed a juvenile male victim off a Ride On bus and took his property 4:20 p.m. on Normandy Square Court.

*April 28: Three teens approached a pizza deliveryman and tried to take a pizza 8:15 p.m. in the 3200 block of Whispering Pines Drive.

Arrests

*April 27: A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested in connection with a carjacking that occurred 10:25 p.m. in the 3400 block of Hewitt Avenue. The victim reported that the robbers pointed guns at him and stole his sport utility vehicle, which was later recovered on Montana Avenue NE, Washington, D.C.

*April 22: A 23-year-old Burtonsville man was arrested for allegedly punching a man in the face, kicking him and going through his pockets about 8:35 p.m. outside of La Antigua Restaurant, 11260 Georgia Ave.

*April 25: A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with a burglary 3:52 a.m. in the 2000 block of McMahon Road.

Commercial burglaries

*Norbeck Beer & Wine, 5526 Norbeck Road, 2:54 a.m. April 24. Forced entry; property taken.

*Pegaso Restaurant, 5532 Norbeck Road, 2:54 a.m. April 24. Attempted entry; nothing taken.

*Wheaton Radiator, 11326 Elkin St., 8:46 p.m. April 24. Alarm sounded; nothing taken.

Residential burglaries

*Peach Orchard Road, 15200 block, between 8 p.m. April 24 and 6:30 p.m. April 25. Unlocked garage entered; property taken.

*Gamewell Road, 1700 block, between 5 p.m. April 26 and 6 p.m. April 29. Unlocked shed entered; equipment taken.

*Georgia Avenue, 14200 block, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 24. Forced entry; nothing taken.

*Georgian Woods Place, 2100 block, between 2 p.m. April 24 and 11 a.m. April 28. Forced entry; property taken.

*Reedie Drive, 1800 block, between April 24 and April 25. Entry forced; resident’s sport utility vehicle is missing.

*University Boulevard, 2700 block, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. April 25. Unknown method of entry; property taken.

Vehicle thefts

Eight vehicles were taken in the district between April 22 and April 30.

Vehicle larcenies

*Greenery Lane, 2100 block, between 2 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. April 23. Three vehicles entered by force; equipment and property taken.

*Bel Pre Road parking lots, during overnight hours. Equipment and property taken from nine vehicles on different days between April 22 and 30.

Twenty-six vehicle larcenies were reported in the district between April 22 and April 30.

Silver Spring district

Armed robberies

*April 26: Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a victim about 4:15 a.m. at Colesville Road and Spring Street. The men were riding in a white Ford Crown Victoria.

*April 26: Two men, one with a handgun, took property from a female who had just parked her car 9:20 p.m. in the 13600 block of Colgate Way.

Strong-arm robberies

*April 23: Several males attacked a male victim and took property 8:40 p.m. at Pershing Drive and Springvale Road.

*April 25: Two teens asked a male victim for money 11:40 p.m. in the 14100 block of Aldora Circle, and when he refused, they threw a rock at him.

Arrests

*April 24: Two Washington, D.C., men, ages 24 and 29, were arrested in connection with a burglary between 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 24 in the 8700 block of 1st Avenue.

*April 22: Two boys, ages 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with an attempted theft of a skateboard from a victim 7:40 p.m. in the 9100 block of Piney Branch Road.

*April 27: A man was arrested in connection with a burglary 2:15 a.m. in the 8700 block of Gilbert Place.

*April 26: Two 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old were arrested in connection with an incident in which four people allegedly tried to take cash from a victim they had been riding with on a Metrobus. The incident occurred when they left the bus 4:55 p.m. at Dennis Avenue and University Boulevard.

Indecent exposure

*April 24: A man dropped his pants and exposed his buttocks 11 a.m. in the 11300 block of Crescendo Place.

Vehicle thefts

One vehicle was reported stolen in the district between April 22 and April 30.

Vehicle larcenies

*Fenton Street, 8500 block, county parking garage, between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. April 22. Property taken.

*Spring Street, 1200 block, county parking garage, between 8:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. April 24. Property taken.

*Wayne Avenue, 900 block, county parking garage, between April 26 and April 27. Property taken.

*Bonifant Street, 1100 block, county parking garage, between 6:15 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. April 26. Property taken.

*Bonifant Street, 1100 block, county parking garage, 4:15 p.m. April 28.

*Plum Orchard Drive, 12000 block, 6:30 a.m. April 25. Equipment taken. Police are seeking a suspect. He was black, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, wearing an orange construction vest and driving a pink and purple minivan.

*New Hampshire Avenue, 11100 block, 8 a.m. April 25. Property taken. A man was seen driving away in a red Ford Windstar with Maryland license plates.

Commercial burglaries

*Metropolitan Community Development Center, 8237 Georgia Ave., between April 22 and April 23. No forced entry; unknown if anything taken.

*Harry’s Restaurant, 13816 Old Columbia Pike, 1:30 a.m. April 25. Forced entry; nothing taken.

*Starbucks, 15707 Old Columbia Pike, 2:12 a.m. April 25. Forced entry; nothing taken.

Residential burglaries

*Newell Street, 8000 block, between 1 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. April 29. Two apartments; entry gained and property taken from one.

*First Avenue, 8700 block, between 12:55 p.m. and 2 p.m. April 24. Property taken.

*Ruatan Street, 1000 block, 12:20 a.m. April 30. The victim heard someone and screamed; the burglar fled.

*Dilston Road, 1400 block, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. April 28. Forced entry; property taken.

*Ruppert Road, 1100 block, between 10:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. April 28. Forced entry; property taken. A witness saw three males running from the residence and drive away in a red sedan.
