Final B-CC Purple Line open house Thursday

The Maryland Transit Administration will hold another open house from 5-8 p.m. Thursday to inform residents and interested parties about the state’s planned Purple Line. The open house will be in the cafeteria of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, 4301 East West Highway, Bethesda.

Attendees will see updated information from MTA on travel times, costs and ridership numbers.

MTA plans a fall release of a draft environmental impact statement and analysis of transit routes for the proposed bus or light-rail line connecting Bethesda and New Carrollton. Tomorrow’s open house will be the last open house in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area before MTA releases its reports.

Trillium indemolition phase

The Trillium development on Woodmont Avenue, Wisconsin Avenue and Battery Lane recently started with demolition, expected to take about six more weeks. Traffic may be affected along Woodmont Avenue near the site during demolition. Construction will begin thereafter, and will take about two and a half years.

Town of Chevy Chase playground meeting set

Residents hoping to offer ideas to the designs of a renovated Leland Center playground in the Town of Chevy Chase can attend a town meeting Thursday night. The town’s public services committee meets at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Town Hall, 4301 Willow Lane, Chevy Chase.

Residents who plan to attend are asked to contact Susan Milner at and to include in the e-mail the number of children who will be accompanying them to the meeting.
