Fitzgerald Auto Malls will be honored this month by the Partnership for a Safer Maryland for its child car safety seat program.

The safety seat program has conducted 35,000 free safety seat installations and inspections since 1999. It uses certified technicians to ensure that children are properly secured in car seats. It has approval and assistance from Montgomery County police, fire and rescue and Maryland State Police.

Fitzgerald Auto Malls, which has 12 locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Florida, will be honored on May 16 at the Partnership for a Safer Maryland Conference and Award Ceremony in Baltimore. The ceremony will recognize other groups from around the state including Patuxent Sportsmen for Kids, State Farm Insurance, Delmarva Power, Boat US Foundation and R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma.
