Taste of Wheaton set for Sunday

Live entertainment, children’s activities and $1 food samples will highlight the 13th annual Taste of Wheaton on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Grandview Avenue and Reedie Drive in downtown Wheaton.

From eggplant parmigiana and pupusas to California rolls and Dim Sum, the Taste of Wheaton will showcase the international flavors of Saigonese Authentic Vietnamese, Mamma Lucia Restaurant, Moby Dick Seafood and Sushi, Royal Mile Pub, Caramelo Bakery, El Boqueron and Hollywood East on the Boulevard.

The free event will feature performances by Chopteeth, DC Latin Jazz All Stars, The Groove Killers and Lea. Children’s entertainment will include musical performances by Rocknoceros and the RTTs, as well as face painting, puppet shows, balloon artists and rides.

The Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad will have demonstrations throughout the day and numerous county agencies will provide information on their programs and services.

Portions of Grandview Avenue will be closed during the event, and Triangle Lane will be closed. Free parking will be available at the Wheaton Metro garage on Viers Mill Road and at the county garage at Amherst Avenue and Reedie Drive. The Wheaton Metro Station is located one-half block south of the event.
