NCCF receives moneyfor renovation
The Maryland Board of Public Works awarded a $250,000 grant last week to help the National Center for Children and Families to complete a major renovation to its Bethesda headquarters.
Located on Greentree Road, the newly renovated building will contain a state-of-the-art school and library for juveniles who have experienced abuse, neglect or inadequate supervision. It will also provide training and mentoring for parents and volunteers and a space for specialized mental health treatment and family visits.
‘‘The National Center for Children and Families has demonstrated for more than 90 years of serving vulnerable youth and families,” Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich said in a news release announcing the grant. ‘‘This renovated facility will improve the quality of life for at-risk children in Montgomery County.”
The center is a private, nonprofit that provides a shelter for vulnerable youth and families.
