A Gaithersburg man was convicted Tuesday morning in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan of stalking actress Uma Thurman, according to the New York District Attorney’s Office.

Jack Jordan, 37, was found guilty of fourth-degree stalking and second-degree harassment at about 12:30 p.m. and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. He was acquitted of two counts of aggravated harassment. The jury began its deliberations Monday afternoon.

Jordan, an out-of-work lifeguard living with his parents in Gaithersburg who was staying in his car at the time of his arrest, had reportedly stalked Thurman since 2005, the Associated Press reported.

He tried to visit her trailer in New York while she was filming and sent her ominous love letters while involuntarily committed in a Rockville mental hospital in 2005, according to the AP. Jordan has been diagnosed as bipolar and schizophrenic, the article stated.

Jordan is scheduled to be sentenced June 2.
