Bluegrass series to welcome Audie Blaylock Friday, May 5, 2006 Grammy-nominated Audie Blaylock and his band Redline will perform at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at the Cultural Arts Center, 15 W. Patrick St., Frederick. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Blaylock’s career began in 1982 when he joined bluegrass legend Jimmy Martin as a Sunny Mountain Boy and remained with the band for nine years. He was previously a member of Rhonda Vincent and The Rage and during that time, garnered four consecutive nominations for Guitar Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
Blaylock provided lead vocals and guitar for the 2005 Grammy(tm) and IBMA nominated ‘‘Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass, Vol. 1.” The album spotlights the great songs Martin, and the album includes a stellar guest cast of noted musicians.
Blaylock formed his own band ‘‘Redline” in 2004 and they have already received widespread recognition in a short period of time by headlining major festivals and events across the country as well as being nominated last October for the IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year.
Lonesome Day Records signed Audie Blaylock & Redline to a recording contract and will release the band’s first album later this year.

The band includes Audie Blaylock (lead vocals and guitar); Chris Warner (banjo and vocals); Bobby Davis (bass), Stephen Mougin (mandolin & vocals); and Patrick McAvinue (fiddle).
