Magruder student creates winning logo

The Olney Town Center Advisory Committee has a new logo, created by Amy Soukup, a sophomore at Col. Zadok Magruder High School.

The committee invited students from high schools serving the greater Olney area to design a logo to be used on its Web site and print materials.

Soukup’s design was chosen from among 21 entries, which were judged by committee members.

At their April 16 meeting, members of the Olney Town Center Advisory Committee awarded Soukup a $500 scholarship towards an accredited higher learning institution, donated by Carl M. Freeman Retail, owners and managers of the Olney Village Center and the Olney Town Center shopping centers.
