A Fort Washington man died shortly after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle the evening of April 16 in Oxon Hill, according to Prince George's County police.
Brian Rasheed Harris, 26, of the 300 block of Aragona Drive was riding his 2005 Yamaha dirt bike southbound in the 8900 block of Oxon Hill Road when he tried to make a left-hand turn onto Tor Bryan Road. According to police, Harris struck the front right side of a Toyota Corolla and was thrown from his motorcycle, landing on the front windshield of the vehicle.
Police responded to the accident shortly after 8 p.m., and Harris was taken to Fort Washington Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officer Henry Tippett, a police spokesman, said Harris was drunk, speeding and illegally driving the bike.
"It's an off-road bike with no headlights or turning signals," Tippett said, adding that the combination of impaired driving and speed caused the accident.
No other injuries were reported.
