Four injured in car accidentFour people have been hospitalized with serious injuries after the car they were traveling in lost control, became airborne and struck several parked cars along Randolph Road in Wheaton early this morning. The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. today when a driver of a Toyota Corolla carrying three other passengers was traveling eastbound on Randolph Road at what witnesses said was at a high speed, said Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. Of the four occupants, one was ejected from the vehicle, while another was trapped in the vehicle. Piringer said two of the victims have life-threatening injuries and all remain in area hospitals. Two of the occupants were taken to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, one was taken to a trauma center at Washington Hospital Center and another was taken to the trauma center at Prince George’s Hospital via helicopter. The helicopter had to land at nearby Kennedy High School, and Randolph Road was closed for about two hours following the accident this morning, Piringer said. The car, which hit parked cars in front of a home on the 3600 block of Randolph Road, did not cause any damage to that home, Piringer said. Montgomery County Police are investigating the crash.
