Police identify road rage victims

Maryland State Police have released the identities of the two people who died in an crash on Interstate 270 Wednesday morning that involved road rage.

Driver Christian Michael Luciano, 28, and passenger Lindsay Bender, 25, both of Harrisburg, Pa., died after their 1998 Chrysler Sebring flipped over an embankment at about 8 a.m. near the Route 80 exit on southbound I-270.

Witnesses told police Luciano and Bender had been exchanging obscene gestures with the driver of a green or gray pickup truck when the pickup truck driver pulled in front of the Sebring and slammed on his brakes. Both cars were speeding, police said.

Luciano swerved into a guardrail and crashed into several trees.

Luciano and Bender, who were not wearing seat belts, were flown through the convertible roof. They were pronounced dead at the scene, said Maryland State Police Sgt. Russell Newell.

Police are still looking for the driver of the pickup truck, who witnessed described as a white male wearing a baseball cap. Anyone with information should call police at 301-644-4151.
