Spiegel has experience to represent District 17

I write you today with great pleasure, the pleasure of watching someone run for the Maryland House of Delegates who cares as much as I do about District 17.

The Gazette’s readership and all the voters in District 17 should understand that Ryan Spiegel is someone who will make a positive difference in our community. He is a proven community leader and Democratic activist who will make an excellent member of the Maryland House of Delegates.

Spiegel is the son of a Maryland public school teacher and a graduate of Maryland public schools, so he understands the importance of investing in public education. He has been a tough advocate for improved teacher pensions, adequate funding for school construction, and more affordable college tuitions. Spiegel also serves on the Gaithersburg Education Committee.

Spiegel’s balanced approach to the need for both traffic relief and environmental protection is the right course for our community. And as chairman of the county’s Victim Services Advisory Board, Spiegel is well-versed in public safety issues and is tough on crime. Additionally, he supports cleaner government and more affordable health care. Finally, Spiegel has held several local leadership positions in the Democratic Party.

Ryan Spiegel has the experience, integrity and passion to represent District 17. I hope that voters will cast their votes for Ryan Spiegel on Sept. 12. I know I will.
