The following is a sampling from news summaries from the Montgomery County Police Department. The words “arrested“ and “charged“ do not imply guilt.

Silver Spring district

Armed robberies⁄attempts

*March 18: Two men, one with a gun, demanded money from a victim about 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Gist Avenue, but when the victim struggled, the men fled.

*March 15: Two men armed with handguns and wearing ski masks took cash and property about 2:15 a.m. from 7-Eleven, 10203 New Hampshire Ave.

*March 17: Two men confronted a victim about 11 p.m. in the parking lot of Jerry’s Sub Shop, 15547 Old Columbia Pike and struck him in the head with a handgun. The men fled.

Strong-arm robbery⁄assaults

*March 16: A man who was trying to take items from CVS, 1290 East West Highway, assaulted an employee who tried to stop him just before midnight. It is unknown if anything was taken.

Arrests

*March 12: A 23-year-old Montgomery Village man was arrested in connection with theft from vehicles 12:20 a.m. on Domer Avenue.

*March 12: Three men were arrested 7:30 p.m. in connection with a burglary in the 9400 block of Stateside Court.

*March 13: Three males were arrested in connection with burglaries 1:10 p.m. in the 12400 block of Mylott Street and the 12300 block of Herrington Manor Drive.

*March 15: Two men and a male juvenile were arrested 3:15 p.m. in connection with a burglary in the 12500 block of Palermo Drive.

Residential burglaries

*Fidler Lane, 1100 block, between March 14 and March 15. No forced entry; property taken.

*Georgia Avenue, 10100 block, between 4 p.m. and 10:17 p.m. March 17. Woman noticed her keys were missing after visiting a friend.

*Northampton Drive, 600 block, between 1 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. March 14. Forced entry; property taken.

*Cherry Tree Lane, 10300 block, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 17. Forced entry; property taken.

*Eisner Street, 400 block, between March 7 and March 17. Forced entry; unknown what was taken.

*Lockwood Drive, 11400 block, between 6:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. March 14. No forced entry; property taken.

Vehicle thefts

Vehicle larcenies

*Bournefield Way and Tech Road, between March 11 and March 17. Catalytic converters taken during the daylight hours, mostly from Toyotas.

Twenty-one vehicle larcenies were reported in the district between March 11 and March 19. Nine occurred in the I1 beat, which includes White Oak.

Takoma Park

Assaults

*March 22: Two males struck a victim in the face several times 5 p.m. in the 6700 block of Conway Avenue.

*March 23: A person got out of a vehicle and hit a male on the right side of his face as the victim was riding his bicycle in a crosswalk about 10:30 p.m. in the 7800 block of New Hampshire Avenue. No suspect information was available.

*March 25: One of two people assaulted a bus driver about 11:16 p.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The victim suffered a cut to his right ear.

Police are looking for two suspects: A black female wearing a black jacket and black jeans and a Hispanic man who was about 6 feet tall, between 20 and 30 years old, and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, and black and white jacket.

Vehicle thefts

*Kennewick Avenue, 8100 block, between March 26 and 27. 1999 GMC Jimmy taken.

Vehicle larcenies

*Piney Branch Road, 7600 block, 7:08 p.m. March 21. Forced entry; property taken. Police have two male suspects.

*Carroll Avenue, 7600 block, between 10 p.m. March 21 and noon March 22. Suspect sawed the catalytic converter off two vehicles in a parking lot.

*Jackson Avenue, 7400 block, between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. March 20. No forced entry; property taken.

*Jackson Avenue, 1100 block, between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 22. Forced entry; property taken.

Theft

*Safeway, 1100 block of University Boulevard, 7:30 p.m. March 23. No forced entry; property taken.

Residential burglary⁄attempts

*Chestnut Avenue, 7500 block, 9:34 p.m. March 25. No forced entry; nothing taken in attempt.

*University Boulevard, 1000 block, between 5 p.m. March 26 and 6 a.m. March 27. Forced entry; no property taken.

Arrests

*March 21: A woman was charged with marijuana possession about 4:21 p.m. in the 7400 block of Glenside Drive.

*March 21: A man was charged with marijuana possession 10:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Hopewell Avenue.

*March 22: A woman was charged with marijuana possession about 9:45 p.m. in the 7400 block of Aspen Court.

*March 24: A man was charged with driving under the influence about 1:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of University Boulevard.

*March 24: a man was arrested 1:05 p.m. in the 7500 block of Maple Avenue on an open warrant charging him with trespassing, destruction of property over $500, and fourth-degree burglary.

*March 27: A man was arrested on an open warrant about 3 a.m. in the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue.

Wheaton-Glenmont district

Armed robberies

*March 16: A masked man armed with a handgun took cash and property from two 7-Eleven stores, 13401 New Hampshire Ave. at 1:44 a.m. and 15339 New Hampshire Ave. at 1:54 a.m.

Aggravated assault

*March 14: When a man asked another man for a dollar in front of a store in the 13800 block of Georgia Avenue, the man cut the victim. Police did not specify the weapon or the severity of the wound.

Indecent exposure

*March 12: A man exposed himself to a woman 6:35 a.m. in the 11400 block of Georgia Avenue.

Arrests

*March 12: Two people were arrested in connection with a robbery and assault between juvenile females about 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court.

*March 14: A 24-year-old Kensington man was arrested in connection with an incident in which the man attempted to enter the Telvis Bar, 11222 Grandview Ave., about 11:50 p.m. and when a security guard refused, the man tried to stab the guard. The guard sustained cuts to his hand.

Residential burglaries

*Stabler Lane, 16000 block, between 11 a.m. and noon March 11. Forced entry; property taken.

*Stonington Place, 11700 block, between 9 a.m. and 2:17 p.m. March 11. No forced entry; property taken.

Vehicle thefts

Nine vehicles were stolen in the district between March 11 and March 19.

Vehicle larcenies

*Kenbrook Drive and Hyde Road, between midnight and 6:30 a.m. March 14. Four vehicles entered; two were unlocked and two had windows broken.

Fourteen incidents of vehicle larcenies were reported in the district between March 11 and March 19.
