County Police Report

The following is a summary of recent incidents in the First (Rockville) and Fourth (Wheaton-Glenmont) districts to which the Montgomery County Police responded. The words ‘‘arrested” and ‘‘charged” do not imply guilt.

First District

Aggravated assault

*On March 15 at 2 p.m., at the 7-Eleven at 250 Derwood Circle in Rockville. A man attempted to steal a bottle of soda. When an employee confronted him, the man struck the victim with the bottle. The man, 23 and homeless, was arrested.

Graffiti

*Between noon on March 11 and 10 a.m. March 12, in the 300 block of Rutgers Street in Rockville. Words were spray painted on the exterior wall of a residence.

Shots fired

*On March 13 at 3:35 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at the rear of the 7-Eleven at 13251 Atlantic Ave. in Rockville. They did not find any victims or suspects, but did find shell casings.

Theft

*Veirs Mill Road and First Street in Rockville, reported on March 17. Equipment reported missing from a construction site.

Vandalism

*On March 16 at approximately 11:53 p.m., at McDonalds, 1902 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville. An employee heard a loud noise and went to investigate. He found the towel dispenser broken and graffiti written all over the bathroom.

Vehicle larceny

*12900 block of Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville, between the evening of March 12 and 7 a.m. March 13. Equipment stolen from a 1997 Honda Prelude.

*King Farm area of Rockville, between March 11 and 19. Entry forced in two instances; a door was left unlocked in another. Property was taken in four instances.

*1801 Research Boulevard in Rockville, at 2:08 p.m. March 12. A witness saw a man force entry and take property. The man fled in a red 4-door Honda with Maryland tags.

Commercial burglary

*Southlawn Restaurant, 663 Loftstrand Lane in Rockville, alarm at 8:15 p.m. March 18. Entry attempted.

*Atlantic Recycling Group, 30 W. Gude Drive in Rockville, between 4:30 p.m. March 13 and 6:45 a.m. March 14. Forced entry; property taken.

*Doctor’s office, 2401 Research Blvd. in Rockville, between 6 p.m. March 11 and 7:30 a.m. March 12. Forced entry; property taken.

Residential burglary

*200 block of Highland Avenue in Rockville, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 11. Forced entry; property taken.

*600 block of Great Falls Road in Rockville, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 13. Forced entry; property taken.

*200 block of North Horners Lane in Rockville, between 7 and 7:27 p.m. March 14. A man rang victim’s doorbell. When she refused to let him in, he broke a window and attempted to enter the house. The man was arrested.

*Autumn Wind Way in Rockville, between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. March 15. The victim left the garage door open and both unlocked vehicles in the garage were searched.

*100 block of Watkins Pond Boulevard in Rockville, between 6:30 p.m. March 16 at and 7:30 a.m. March 17. Forced entry. The garage and the unlocked vehicle inside were searched. Property taken from the vehicle.

*200 block of Cork Tree Lane in Rockville, on March 17. Unknown entry; unknown if property taken.

*3000 block of Windy Knoll Court in Rockville, at noon on March 18. The victim was home and saw a man trying to gain entry. The man fled on foot after being interrupted.

*Unit block of Feather Rock Place in Rockville, between noon and 1 p.m. March 18. Attempted forced entry.

Fourth District

Aggravated assault

*On March 14 at 9 p.m., in front of a beer and wine store at 13842 Georgia Avenue in Aspen hill. The victim asked for a dollar from a man, and the man cut the victim.

*On March 14 at 11:50 p.m., at the Telvis Bar at 11222 Grandview Ave. in Wheaton. A man attempted to enter the bar. When security refused him entry, the man attempted to stab the security guard. The victim suffered cuts on his hand. A 24-year-old Kensington man was arrested.

Robbery

*On March 12 at 3:35 p.m., in the 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court in Silver Spring. A dispute between juvenile females. The victim was punched and property taken. Two arrests made.
