Margaret McAtamney

Margaret Elizabeth McAtamney, 69, of Germantown died of cancer on March 30, 2008, at Shady Grove Hospital.

Born Dec. 25, 1938, in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Leslie M. McAtamney and the late Sarah E. McKeag. She was of Irish descent and immigrated to the United States at age ten.

She was the wife of the late James Creaghan.

She retired from a career in accounting. Her hobbies included reading, music, dancing, singing, traveling, having political discussions, entertaining and cooking.

Survivors include two daughters, Laurie A. Boyer of Laytonsville and Dana C. Holweck and husband, James of Westminster; a son, Michael J. Creaghan of Laytonsville; one brother, Frank McKeag and wife, Teri of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville. The funeral service is at noon. Chaplain Mark Mendizabal will officiate. A graveside service will follow at All Souls Cemetery. An Irish wake will follow the graveside service.
