The forgotten ‘people’

I can barely contain the sadness as I watch this ‘‘government of the people” come under attack from all quarters. They tax us brutally then fine us and toll us into oblivion.

They have their public hearings but their minds are already made up before the formalities. We are trying to determine if at some point the property taxes become so high or the eminent domain ax will swing forcing us to sell out of our homes. County Executive Isiah Leggett should take a less from U.S. Rep. Al Wynn, who failed on many fronts. And that goes for County Councilman Phil Andrews of the safety committee with his speed cameras and ‘‘tax-and-spend” Gov. Martin O’Malley.

They have turned this great experiment into ‘‘government of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians.” They should not forget, we do can watch what they do and vote the bums out.
